Kerr holds a Bachelor of Music Degree with a Concentration in Music Education,
with Distinction and a M.A. in Teaching, Concentration in K-12 Music from University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her major instrument is piano, but she also
performed on tuba in the UNC ensembles. She was a member of the Dean’s List throughout
her college career and was awarded a First Gaston Foundation Scholarship for her
undergraduate studies. She was a member of the Marching Tarheels from 1996-2000,
where she served as a section leader and Student Assistant to the Director of
Bands. Mrs. Kerr completed her student teaching at Leesville Road High and Middle
Schools in 2001 under the supervision of David S. Albert and Meride Negrete.
Her previous teaching experience includes Instrumental Music Teacher/Band Director
at Bragg Intermediate School, Chester, NJ, Band Director at Shongum and Fernbrook
Schools, Randolph, NJ, and Band Director at Leesville Road Middle School, Raleigh,
NC. Mrs. Kerr has worked with the West Morris Mendham Marching Band in Mendham,
NJ as an Assistant Music & Drill Instructor. She also performed on tuba with the
West Morris Community Band.
In her free time, Mrs. Kerr enjoys playing the piano, watching movies, and volunteering
for homeless animals. back
