OTHER
NEWS!!! On
behalf of myself, Ms. Bender, Mr. Kotzian, and Ms. Oliver, we would like to congratulate
the Pit Orchestra/Band for this year's musical, "The Wiz," on receiving a nomination
for the "Best Orchestra" Capital Award.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Capital Awards, each year, musicals from
around the district are judged on one of their performances, and schools receive
nominations for Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Lighting, etc...Millbrook High
School's only nomination this year was for the orchestra. There were 19 total
high schools who competed this year. The
directors will all attend the award ceremony on May 19th. Student and parent tickets
are available from Ms. Bender, but have to be paid for by May 5. They cost $15
each. This is truly a great honor for our instrumental students. I am proud of
their dedication to the music program at Millbrook High School and what they have
accomplished. Natalie
